SARASOTA, Fla. (August 8, 2011) Voalté Inc., innovator of health care communications technology, plans to add 50 new jobs over the next three years as the company expands its facility in Sarasota County, according to Voalté CEO Rob Campbell. Sarasota County Government recently approved a performance-based incentive grant of $250,000 to facilitate the company’s expansion.

Founded in Sarasota County in 2008, Voalté (www.voalte.com) created a smart phone solution that enables nurses and clinicians to communicate with each other via high-definition voice calls, text messages and nurse call and monitor alarms, all on one device. Voalté products are designed to be intuitive, high value, mission critical applications running on the latest generation of touch-based smart phones.

“Market demand for our proven health care communications technology is driving this expansion. We are adding sales team members in the United States, as well as technology innovators,” Campbell said. “Sarasota County is a great location for our growing business, with the depth and breadth of health care businesses in the region and proximity to our development partner, Sarasota Memorial Health Care System.”

Voalté occupies 3,500 square feet on Bee Ridge Road in Sarasota, and will lease an additional 1,500 square feet at the same location. The business has 22 employees, and plans to add a variety of professional positions. Several job openings are posted on the company’s website.

“The growth at Voalté demonstrates the viability of Sarasota County as a location for innovative technology firms,” said Mark Huey, president and CEO of the Economic Development Corporation of Sarasota County (EDC). “As the health care industry expands nationally, the prospects are bright for Voalté’s potential.”

EDC staff consulted with the company on the expansion and assisted Voalté in applying for Sarasota County’s economic development incentives.

“Voalté’s record of success and expansion in Sarasota County supports our focus on companies that create new technological products and produce a new sector of technology-related jobs,” said Nora Patterson, Sarasota County Commission chair. “Sarasota County continues to prove its ability to attract the kind of companies that will diversify our economy, even in tough times for business.”
