Oscar Callejas

CHIEF EXPERIENCE OFFICER

Oscar’s background in the hospitality industry began at just 16 when he started working at the famous National Hotel on South Beach. What started out as a Summer job to raise money for a stereo system, transformed into a passion for helping and serving people that continues to this day. Oscar moved quickly through the industry and by the age of 20 had become one of the youngest managers at a luxury hotel, the historic Mayfair House Hotel in Coconut Grove, FL.

Over a period of four years at this property, he was recognized and nominated several times for numerous service awards, including the prestigious Inn Key Award – the highest honor bestowed by the Greater Miami and the Beaches Hotel Association. Soon after, he returned to South Beach where he helped manage a 355 room resort – raising service scores from 70% to over 90% in the first 4 months. Following this early success, he moved to a recently acquired historic Art Deco boutique hotel. At this property, Oscar was responsible for overseeing the transition of ownership and implementing service standards while preparing for a multi-million dollar renovation.

In June of 2007, Oscar joined Driftwood Hospitality and began work on another renovation project where he again helped manage the transition of the newly acquired hotel and oversee operations and revenue management during renovation to Hotel Indigo by Intercontinental Hotels Group – a multi-million dollar overhaul that included the creation of new public areas and the gutting of all rooms.

Oscar graduated from the University of Miami with a double major in International Finance & Marketing, and Business Management. He earned his Masters in Entrepreneurship from the University of Florida Warrington College of Business where he, along with Trey Lauderdale, won the top prize in the school’s Business Plan Competition.
