Some things just work well together. Unfortunately, when it comes to healthcare technology, we more often hear about systems that don’t integrate with each other, companies that don’t share information, or technologies that just don’t work well with others. That’s why partnerships are so important, not only for the partners, but for their customers and the end users who ultimately benefit from more efficient ways of working.
I recently returned from a customer visit with our new partners at Lightning Bolt Solutions, and the response was spectacular. If you’re not familiar with Lightning Bolt, it’s important to note that the company was named by KLAS as the best physician scheduling software on the market. Lightning Bolt developed advanced algorithms that analyze a complex set of criteria to create a comprehensive, balanced physician schedule that is always up-to-date and easily accessible. The result is the entire care team knows who is on call at any given moment.
Our new partnership takes those benefits even further by integrating Lightning Bolt with Voalte Platform. Now the care team can see which physicians are on call and can connect with them quickly via voice call, page or secure text message with just one tap from the Voalte Platform directory. Add in the benefit of being able to see at a glance who is available, busy or offline, and the time savings become significant. Any nurse who has ever had to delay patient care while scrambling to find the doctor can appreciate the enormous impact on workflow and quality of care.
Physicians also win in this partnership. With Voalte Platform integrating to Lightning Bolt, a physician can view his or her schedule and then easily send a group text message to request that someone swap a particular shift. Changes are easy to make and are immediately visible to everyone. By contrast, many hospitals still use multiple ways of managing schedules, with some departments creating Excel spreadsheets, others writing on whiteboards, and many relying on obscure solutions an administrator created decades ago.
Our customers are already benefitting from our strong partnership with Connexall to tackle the challenges of alarm management and speed the delivery of alert notifications to Voalte smartphones. We’re looking forward to bringing them even greater value from this new partnership with Lightning Bolt’s physician scheduling solution.
Healthcare has struggled for long enough with ineffective care team communication and inefficient physician scheduling. While many healthcare technology companies continue to talk about interoperability, we are working with other industry leaders to make it a reality.
